Carlos’s window tinting journey began in 2006 when he was just 15 years old. Fascinated by the automotive industry, he had a friend who worked as a window tinter at his brother’s shop, Waco Tint, which sparked his interest. Any chance he got between school and his job, Carlos spent time at the shop watching and learning.

Eventually, he began practicing and learning the trade himself. He developed a strong relationship with the shop and worked there during the summers. Carlos also became interested in electronics and 12-volt systems, installing remote starters and alarms.

After graduating from high school, he worked full-time in the window tinting and 12-volt industry while attending college. Carlos earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice administration from Tarleton State University and went on to pursue a career in law enforcement. Despite the career shift, he continued tinting windows on the side.

Over time, Carlos made the decision to return to window tinting full-time. He worked for XPEL (formerly PermaPlate), traveling across the country installing window tint and paint protection film on brand-new vehicles for dealerships. During his downtime, he continued working at Waco Tint.

Eventually, Carlos took the initiative to open his own business—Texas Tint Shop—on December 3rd, 2022. The shop now specializes in automotive, commercial, and residential window tinting, as well as alarms, remote starts, and anti-theft kill switches.
